Using Camera Dolly Share

From your first JSON import to a path you can share.

Before you start

Camera Dolly Share lets you edit VRChat Camera Dolly JSON in a browser and share it by URL. Bring a keyframe-array JSON file exported from VRChat's OSC Export. You do not need an account to browse or share a path.

One JSON, up to 100 keyframes

Import an array of 1–100 keyframes, no larger than 256 KiB (262144 bytes). Keep a copy of your original file before editing.

Share a path ↗

Import & share

  1. Open "Share a path" and drop a JSON file into the import area, or click to choose a file. You can also paste JSON into the text area.
  2. Enter a title and, optionally, a description, world ID, world name, and comma-separated tags. Use the description to explain the intended world or shot.
  3. Choose "Public" to appear in the library, or "Unlisted" to share only the URL. Complete the bot check and create the path.
  4. Copy the share URL and save the edit key before closing the completion screen. The edit key will not be displayed again.
Unlisted means accessible by URL

Anyone with the URL can view, download, and fork an unlisted path. It is not password-protected. Keep your edit key private; sharing the URL does not grant editing access.

Edit a path

  1. Open your share page and select "Edit this path". Enter your saved edit key and complete the bot check if asked. Editing access lasts 7 days in that browser.
  2. Edit the spreadsheet cells. Add rows with the toolbar, move a selected row up or down, or drag the right edge of a row number. Renumber Index to assign indexes from 0 in the current row order within each Path Index.
  3. For direct JSON changes, open "Edit JSON directly", edit the text, then apply it to the spreadsheet.
  4. Select "Save changes" to save to the server. JSON updates create a new version, leaving previous versions available.

Unsaved input is temporarily stored in this tab and restored after a reload. This is not server storage or a backup across devices. "Discard draft" returns to the last saved path; successful server saves clear the temporary draft.

Use formulas

Numeric cells can contain formulas starting with =. Column letters and row numbers identify cells; A1 is column A in the first keyframe row. $ fixes a column or row reference when copying a formula.

=$A$1 + 1

Formulas are stored as written and evaluated when you download JSON. Resolve invalid formulas, calculation errors, and circular references before downloading. Stored JSON returned by the API retains formulas.

Download & history

Open any share page and select "Download JSON" to save the current path with formulas calculated. In "Version history", download the current or a previous version. Expand "Past versions" to see older entries.

Use the downloaded file with VRChat's Camera Dolly workflow. This site edits and shares JSON; it does not send camera movement directly to VRChat. Check world information and local/world coordinates before using someone else's path.

Fork a path

Select "Fork this path" on a share page to make your own copy of its current version. The source stays unchanged, and your copy has its own URL, edit key, and history. Save the new edit key from the completion screen.

A fork starts as public, even when the source is unlisted. World information is copied; tags and description are not. Open the new path's editor to set visibility and details before sharing it.

Troubleshooting

I lost my edit key

Edit keys cannot be recovered. If your browser still has a valid editing session, you can continue editing there. Without a session or key, you can fork the path to create a new editable copy.

The JSON will not import

Choose one .json file containing a keyframe array, not an object wrapping the array. Check JSON syntax, the 1–100 keyframe limit, and the 256 KiB size limit.

Saving reports a version conflict

Another update changed the JSON version first. Copy the edits you want to keep, reload the latest saved path, and apply your changes again.

I want to delete my path

Open the editor and choose "Delete this path". This permanently deletes the path and all its versions. Forked copies remain, but the link to the deleted source disappears.
